Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) specialize in communication disorders. SLPs provide evaluations and clinical observations to identify individuals with communication disorders and treat individuals with speech, language, fluency, voice and feeding/swallowing difficulties.
SLPs are responsible for evaluation and treatment of children and adults with a variety of communication and feeding/swallowing disorders. Early intervention is vital for children with communication disorders. SLPs develop treatment plans to address: articulation, language, pragmatic/social language, phonology, fluency, literacy, and writing. In the adult population and SLP can provide evaluations and treatment for cognition, Aphasia, fluency, Traumatic Brain Injury, voice disorders and swallowing/feeding difficulties.
During speech therapy we will address goals and provide evidenced-based interventions for speech, language, communication and/or swallowing/feeding deficits to improve overall functional communication skills. With our child and adolescent clients therapy is play based and focused on their interests.
